Question: How much yeast should be added to sugarcane juice to make vinegar by fermentation process.? (Posted by: flori on 2009-04-21 12:37:26) Please tell quantity of yeast in percentage or in gramme(or pounds)per liters (or gallon)of sugar can juice. extra information is welcome. |

Posted by: Corvato on 2009-04-21, 13:14:58 Regular yeast won't make vinegar, it makes alcohol. Vinegar is made from the oxidation by acetic acid bacteria as for how much, it honestly doesn't matter... yeasts will grow to fit the container... but i wouldn't try just putting a few specs in, since it will take forever to start. I usually use a standard packet in my 5 gallon fermenting pail for brewing... but wouldn't make a big difference if i used half a packet or 2 packets. |
