Question: Homebrew yeast: stir it into the brew or simply sprinkle over the top of the liquid in the fermenter? (Posted by: m_bobrob on 2006-06-05 18:19:43) We've been stirring the yeast into the beer but I think that sprinkling the yeast over the top and letting it work its own way through the liquid might be the best way to go. Any thoughts? |

Posted by: regal_lager on 2006-06-05, 20:03:27 No, you should not stir it, for fear that any outside contaminant or bacteria should come into contact with the wort...I have always just sprinkled it on top and it has yielded great results! Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew! |

Posted by: duff007 on 2006-06-05, 18:55:44 The few times i made it i sprinkled it in a cup of beer first and after a few minutes i poured in in and one time i just sprinkled it in and both worked fine. but i think either way is fine |
