Question: Fermenter for home beer brewing? (Posted by: ShakeyoSenses on 2009-10-18 18:23:48) Can you use one of those big water dispenser bottles? I think they are like 5 gallons or something. Also, what are some other things that can be used as a fermenter for home brewing. |

If you want to assemble your own kit, ask a large bakery if they have any large buckets with lids. They get things like their icing in them, so you know that the plastic is food-grade. |

Most kits you buy will use food grade plastic pails of about 7 gallons or large squared ones with about 9 gallon capacity. Lots of recipes call for 6 gallons or 5 gallons and the larger fermenter will allow for foaming. |
